My wife was very sad when our baby boy went to school his first day.  We talked a little about it and the end result is this song. (PS - Some mothers won't listen to this because they say it reminds them of their baby boy and his first day at school.)

He walked down to the bus stop, he’d become a little man
And mommy was right there with him, holding to his little hand
Tears came into her eyes as he went to school his first day
And when she came back to the house, this I heard her say

Now Lord my little boy he’s growing up so fast
It won’t be long till he’ll be gone and I’ll be alone at last

Her mornings are filled with house, work but when that’s all done
