Story behind the song

My ex-drummer, now professional percussionist and college faculty member in the Pittsburgh area, RJ Heid, "hired" me to perform this song at his Grove City College Faculty recital for all of his college students.  Little did I realize the complexity of the tune, with all of the odd time signatures and groupings of the piece.   I grabbed a copy of the track by the Outsidemen, and locked myself in the basement for a few months.  He also hired friend and MONSTER bassist, Paul Thompson.  Before the recital, we hit the studio, went to our separate rooms, rolled tape, and played.  This is one of the LIVE takes of the song, straight from the studio.  My setup was a Fender Deluxe on the clean channel, with a DS-1 out front, and a DD-3 in the loop...probably the best tone I ever had...not to mention playing with the best musicians I've ever played with!
