An amateur Songwriter/Musician a work in progress
I've played in a few cover bands, started off playing lead guitar ended up playing bass, drums and even keyboards a few times and although it was fun never had any great success. I'm now more of an amateur song writer and trying very hard to come up with some songs that might impress someone enough to want to record them.

Story behind the song
The Story of Oatman, Arizona of old Route 66
Lyrics
Oatman, Arizona 1. Among the black mountains, in Mohave county, Stands the little town of Oatman, were there's not much left to see Were once men struck gold there, and fever pitch was around Were people started pitching tents, and digging up all the ground, Now nowhere to be found c. Welcome to Oatman, on old route 66 Were once was a thriving town, were people came to get their kicks Now all's left are memories, and ghosts from the past The free-way stole our life blood and the rot set in fast 2. Well gold became our obsession, we exchanged tents for mines People came from all over, to strike it rich, crossing county lines And when the mines had run there course, operations shut down We still had old route 66, bringing travellers into town Now nowhere to be found 3. Hollywood stars graced our town, we had Gable and Lombard Playing poker with the local miners, before times grew hard Now alls left is that famed hotel, were the only guests are burros And walls are lined with dollar bills, from people we don't even know Where's left to go?
