Just another singer/songwriter. I play all my own instruments (except drums) and record on a Boss BR1200CD standalone multi-track recorder
Just an old Back To The Land hippie that stuck to his plan.

Story behind the song
My thoughts on the Gulf oil disaster
Lyrics
BLOOD IN THE WATER, FLAMES IN THE SKY HEADLINES A READIN', ELEVEN DIE BLACK SMOKE ARISIN', OIL IN THE SEA I HEAR THE VOICES.."GODDAMN BP!" BIRDS LAY A DYIN', ON BEACHES TURNIN' BLACK THE CLOCK IS TICKIN', AND YOU CAN'T TURN IT BACK LISTEN PEOPLE DON'T YOU KNOW BY NOW IT'S GONNA HAPPEN AGAIN SOMEHOW YOU CAN'T RESURRECT THOSE YOU HAVE KILLED IF IT'S TO DEEP TO FIX A LEAK...IT'S TOO DEEP TO DRILL MARSHES AND WETLANDS, DEAD FOR YEARS TO COME YOU CAN'T UNDO IT...THE DAMAGE THAT YOU DONE WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED, FROM THIS TRAGIC TALE? CAN'T YOU SEE YOUR POLICIES HAVE SET YOU UP TO FAIL? LISTEN PEOPLE DON'T YOU KNOW BY NOW IT'S GONNA HAPPEN AGAIN SOMEHOW YOU CAN'T RESURRECT THOSE YOU HAVE KILLED IF IT'S TOO DEEP TO FIX A LEAK...IT'S TOO DEEP TO DRILL...

hi pinedog!! this is on the dot! AMAZING instrumentation and arrangement!! you sound so good here! great lyrics and an importaint message...and it's so true too. because it keeps happening...especially with all that's been going on lately with the petrol situation. "they" only seem to care more for the potentiol money, then the impact on us and the inviroment. But we can also try to do more ourselves by living more natural & using less of the black gold. Simply a great song & recording! one for all to here!!

Howdy Charlie... I wanted to return the favor of your visit to our page by stopping in and listening to a couple of your tracks. This one is very timely...and I completely agree. I also like it when musicians actually say something in their songs. I'm glad I stopped by. Thanks for sharing your music. Hugs...Mike (NAV)

The moratorium, (by the way really like that guitar) like, the moratorium's a bad thing. Good sense here. But good sense seems to have flown. Man and his relationship to his environment, is really the story about more and more of this happening. Wethers its in the coal mines, the asbestos mines, love canal, steel cities man only knows how to produce and doesnt seem to gvie one hoot about what his production does to his environment. Man doesnt get it. I doubt he ever will. Great song!

Brilliantly done Charlie - you said it plain and you said it true. Another disaster on a huge scale caused by reckless greed.

The down and dirty slide guitar really imports the severity of the story told. Very nicely done. Mike

Hey Charlie, you said it best buddy, in a blues fashion, we all get the blues after something like that, cool slide too kind of slippery like the oil. We live quite far north but we all feel for nature when something like this happens. It's time to get going on windmills and solar energy, what the hell are they waiting for, Europe is way ahead. Great song, loved it.

Fitting social commentary with a wonderful, folksy, rural, hometown feel. A truly amazing and very memorable tune at it's core, so special!
