Story behind the song
Same Old Christmas Song Harley Fine New York City, NY I am the product of the tough streets of NYC and have the kind of education you can only get here. I've been called loud and literate with a mess of influences. I have researched and studied the "Golden Age" of music,songwriting, production and recording techniques from the '40s through the '70s. As a Writer/musician/ producer/ I bring a lot to the table and invite a whole dysfunctional family to sit down at that table just to see what fireworks will go off. My songs are based on real life city stories and some from bits of imagination. "Same Old Christmas Song" was written from my frustration of not being able to hear original Christmas music but the old tired worn out stuff from 60 years ago that keeps getting airplay. Oh yeah and from hearing any Christmas at all starting as early as before halloween! It took about 60 hours of work stacking all the guitars and vocals and hand claps. It's like [pre-sex offender Gary Glitter meets Quiet Riot]. It's already part of a best selling compilation Garage band Christmas vol I on www.Oldies.com We just finished the video which will be up on youtube soon.

Same old video...Christmas song video Well we did it. Yesterday with the help of Laura Fay [blisstones] and Trip [Om designs] And Pam Scott {PMS management} we shot the video for "Same Old Christmas Song" http://www.oldies.com/product-view/12572.html. It's on a nationally distributed compilation cd with Shadows of Knight, Henry Gross. Glen Burtnick and others. It's already a top selling cd on the oldies.com site. We had some crazy lo-fi set design as you can see in the short poor quality video from my other camera posted below. The video shoot went really well and we all had a lot of fun shooting it. It's completely no budget and basically a wild performance of the song. We're going to edit this week and will have it up on youtube and on harleyfine.com as well as anywhere else that will show it. I'll be posting the song for downloads this week and sendijg it out to radio stations.
