An entire song about my idea of a perfect whiskey glass.
Sweet Big Time is a collective venture between singer/composer twin brothers, Mitch and Mark Flanagan, and lyricist Tommy Ogren. Also singing are Jennifer Flanagan and Mary Rose "Rosie" O'Leary.
We like to write lots of upbeat, fun music with lyrics that often explore the fun and magic in our lives that is all too often overlooked or taken for granted.
We also do a good number of original western songs to appeal to the cowboy or cowgirl in any of us.

Story behind the song
Years ago I got a whiskey in a casino...and I fell in love with the glass...not too big, not too small, not too tall, real heavy and solid in the butt....fit like a glove in my hand.
Of course I swiped that glass...and over the years have lifted a few other just like it...I mean, they don't sell 'em, you got to swipe 'em.
I camp a lot, and I rough it...but I do bring my perfect whiskey glass with me, and sippin' whiskey out of it always makes me feel so very civilized, ya know?

Lyrics
The Perfect Whiskey Glass!
@Ogren/Flanagan 2008
It might sound crazy to you, but when I go camping, I always take, wrapped up carefully in a thick paper towel, my one essential piece of comfort, my perfect whiskey glass
It’s just the right size, not too big, not too small
It’s not too short, and it’s not too tall
Heavy in the butt, fits like a glove in my hand
The finest whiskey glass in all of the land
‘Cause I figure I’m a fellow with a certain touch of class
And I only sip my whiskey from the perfect whiskey glass
You can’t buy them, got to swipe ‘em, yes ya do
Lifted mine from a casino in Reno; I admit that it’s true
I stuck that sucker in my pocket and walked out into the night
Out beneath the moon and the neon lights so bright
Paid for the whiskey, but not the glass
I don’t go to church, and don’t go to class
But when I want a whiskey, you kin sure bet your ass
That I damn sure drink it, from a perfect whiskey glass
When I’m sippin’ whiskey, from this glass a mine
Tis the perfect pleasure, it’s so sublime
No matter how busy…I always find the time
Fer sippin’ whiskey, from that fine glass of mine
Do a lot a braggin’ ‘bout this primo glass I got
‘Bout how it makes my whiskey, hit exactly that right spot
And ya might think, come on, that I’m just a trippin’
But this glass is plum perfect, for some serious whiskey sippin’
Some folks are mighty particular,
Got to have just the right fork or spoon
But when I have a drink, I’m in the pink,
Sippin’ my whiskey by the light of the moon
‘Cause I figure I’m a fellow with a certain touch of class
And I only sip my whiskey from the perfect whiskey glass
But not no old ordinary glass’ll do,
Good whiskey in the wrong glass is a serious taboo
And I take my whiskey seriously, that I most certainly do
Since whiskey is my idea of the finest kind a brew
‘Cause I figure I’m a fellow with a certain touch of class
And I only sip my whiskey from the perfect whiskey glass
