Story behind the song
This was one of the first tunes I wrote, and it ended up serving mostly as an introduction to the band members. This particular track was from our last live performance as 'His Seed' and also marked the introduction of the new Stratus branded album.
Lyrics
The Calling is clear, We must reach beyond our fear, Teach the children young, What is Right, what is Wrong! 'Cause the need is great, And it never is too late, It never is too late, to teach the children... So loose some dignity, You'll still see eternity, Take some time to play, Then take some time to pray! Show them that you can, Live your life within His plan, Live your life within His plan to teach the children Chorus1: You know sometimes it's hard, To know what's in the cards. Life is not a game, We can't treat all men the same... Oh Teach the children.. Oh Teach the children.. And when our time is done, And Life's race has all been run. Will we laugh or cry, Over those of time gone by? Who were ours to mould, As together we grew old, Together we grew old to teach the children And when at Jesus feet, We will hear his voice so sweet, Say to us that day "I was with you all the way! Teaching by your side, and touching other lives, I was touching other lives to teach the children!" Chorus2: Though the times may come, When it seems we can't go on. Comfort will be found in the Book, His word is sound... Oh teach the children, Oh teach the children, repeat Chorus1 Oh teach the children...!
