Songwriter of pop songs and ballads. No bull shit!
My name is Gart, I am a songwriter. I write pop songs and ballads. Not much of a singer myself, but hopefully someone with a good ear for potential, who happens to be looking for new songs to sing or to promote, will find my work interesting. Feel free to contact me!

Story behind the song
What motivated me to write this song? Just a little attractive piano riff I happened to stumble on. Often these things just happen accidentally. Then I think of a line, like "I can't read the writing on the wall", and when that strikes me, the rest more or less just falls into place. Although in this case I did use a line I heard on TV, which I thought was great: "Conviction is a luxury for those on the sidelines".
Lyrics
I can?t read the writing on the wall Even though I am slowly growing older Doesn?t mean I?m also getting better I just can?t read at all A broken promise I keep forgetting That you denied me What I took for granted Standing here with nothing left to say Gazing through the cobwebs on the window Hoping for a liberating answer I don?t know you at all Not at all There was a time when I stood tall and proud, a time when I Could state my case without a doubt and I When I knew who I was and where I was going to Now those illusions have left me small and broken But it doesn?t faze me And it doesn?t matter Conviction is a luxury for those Who waste their time just standing on the sidelines Who theorize about Utopian guidelines Who live by books and rules Just books and rules There as a time when I stood tall and proud a time when I Could state my case without a doubt and I I knew who I was and where I was going to Now those illusions have left me small and broken But it doesn?t faze me It doesn?t matter I can?t read the writing on the wall Even though I am slowly growing older Doesn?t mean I?m also getting better I just can?t read at all I can?t read
