If I’d have known this all along
The x factor
I suddenly feel so strong
I was always the negative reactor
If you’d told me, I wouldn’t believe
Life is something you control
My mind just wasn’t ready to conceive
It’s like a joystick on a consol
Too easy to hide in the background
And break promises to yourself
It makes me sick, like riding a merry-go-round
Might as well be a toy factory elf
But it’s not just something you’re born with
You must work in order to achieve
Anything less is a myth
It’s easier to give up and leave
It’s why I’m not going to listen to you
All you try to do is bring me down
I don’t want to be part of your crew
You’ll never get anywhere with that frown
I love every bit of the training
That’s what you fail to see
I’m tired of going through so much explaining
I know that you won’t listen to me
You hate the person you truly want to be
I know because that’s how I used to think
But that never got me anywhere, just a pity party
When I make a vow; it’s signed in ink
I don’t need you to tell me I’m the best
In my mind, I already am
All the doubters can lay to rest
I’ll block you off like a reservoir dam
You must first believe you can
But you’ll never get there unless you execute your plan
A positive mind to understand
It’s the only to stand out in an overcrowded land
