Story behind the song
One day my favorite librarian at my local library pulled into the library lot with her burgundy van at the very same time that I was pulling in with my blue Kia. A thought then occurred to me to write a lyric using those two colors. The result was a saga of a woman drinking some burgundy wine in order to drown out a blue mood.
