Lyrics
Hopalong Cowgirl

                   prologue
Three older brothers tried to leave her behind
Little sister with a cowgirl suit on
They couldn't stop her when she made up her mind
So they just called her Hopalong
                      verse
The Chicks are playing on her stereo
She's seventeen and raring to go
Slips out the back when the coast is clear
Leaves her worries in the rearview mirror
Out on the trail, looking for some fun
Quarter-to-ten, but the night's still young
                       chorus
Don't stop, Hopalong Cowgirl
Looking for a place where the feeling is right
Tick tock, Hopalong Cowgirl
Trying to squeeze some happiness out of the night

                        verse 2
Cell phone call from her good friend Eddie
There's a party going, down by the levee
They're holding hands by the river bend
He tries to kiss her, they both fall in
Car radio blasting into the night
Wading by the river by the full moons light

                         repeat chorus

                         bridge
Starts work on Monday at the coffee shop
Serving cookies and cafe-au-lait
But she's got dreams and it won't be long
Before she's on her way

                          breakdown chorus
Don't stop, Hopalong Cowgirl
Looking for a place where the feeling is right
Tick tock, Hopalong Cowgirl
Trying to squeeze some happiness out of the night
                         repeat 2nd chorus and outro
