wide range, from pop/rock to classical
Lorraine Inabinett isn't a band. It's me! I love to compose and I love to share.
Story behind the song
This was originally written as a poem when a friend of the family died.
Lyrics
If someone doesn’t ease the ache,
I feel my heart will surely break.
He’s gone! He’s gone! He slipped away.
I talked with him just yesterday
And in a moment’s fleeting breath
He fled away from me in death.
Now I must face the fact that man
Can simply not devise a plan
To keep from heeding death’s cruel call.
Yes, death will come and claim us all
And all my well planned fantasy
Has crumbled out from under me.
It’s hard to realize that I
Would almost rather live a lie
Than understand that man is not
Invulnerable, but oh, so fraught
With weakness. Helpless he must cling
To God, the source of everything
And God, Creator, Savior, Lord,
Has made me choose my life’s reward.
He’s with him now. He made his choice.
In knowing that, I can rejoice
And I can live on with belief
That separation here is brief
And soon, I’ll see him face to face.
Together, we will hail God’s grace.
We’ll shout for joy and sing God’s praise,
Forgetting all the painful days
That drove us to our knees to pray
And cry for God to show the way.
Yes, death will lose its sting and be
Swallowed up in victory!
