Lyrics
Mississippi Rose Lyrics by Nathan A. Baker Music, Piano, Bass and Vocals by Ian Ferrin Broken down in Jackson Texas is behind me now I need to get on to Tennessee But Natchez is a difficult route I could swim the river If it was summertime Three months seems like forever Ninety days can be a lifetime Chorus: Blue Bonnets aren’t the only flower Ever to steal a fellow’s heart I was smitten by a Mississippi rose Near where the old trace starts Wood rose in the moonlight Silver petals on a thorny stem Her perfume fills the night Shadows move I follow them Repeat Chorus Copyright 2014 Baker and Ferrin Mississippi Rose photo used by permission under a creative commons license © 2011 Natalie Maynor, https://www.flickr.com/photos/nataliemaynor/

Very good song writing. Love the piano and guitar work in this . Very nicely done. Nice vocal work on this number a good fit to the mood of the song.
