An amateur Songwriter/Musician a work in progress
I've played in a few cover bands, started off playing lead guitar ended up playing bass, drums and even keyboards a few times and although it was fun never had any great success. I'm now more of an amateur song writer and trying very hard to come up with some songs that might impress someone enough to want to record them.

Story behind the song
A WWI love song
Lyrics
Passchendaele Rain - by Steve Salterszo ©Pinetree Music®2012 1. Under the tree by the brook A young lady sits and waits For her true love to return From Hells gates She thinks back to that day As the war train did depart How sweetly he kissed her goodbye And said with a heavy heart c. Fair thee well my true love I hope we'll meet again As he disappeared through the mist of Passchendaele Rain 2. She received his first letter As summertime ushered in But no warmth could be found from The sad words within He was holding back the truth But she felt his suffering And she wrote him right back Trying to stop the tears from falling c. Fair thee well my true love May my love keep you sane And his tears began to fall like Passchendaele Rain 3. The whistles filled the air And thunder shook the ground As he went over the top Clasping her letters that he'd bound As the smoke finally cleared The young man lay peaceful and still As he fell by his friends side He breathed his last words on that hill c. Fair thee well my true love I'm at peace and feel no pain For you'll find me waiting for you neath the Passchendael Rain
