Eclectic before eclectic was cooool... i fancy Bowie, Eno, Rundgren, Hendrix, Prince, TDN, Zappa, Sinatra, and more-but speaks now to the would-be apocalyptic t
1989 I was mixing genre's which stumped my publisher, esp. with this song, rock, funk, techno, rap, spirituality....I broke the studio records with this one...I did most of the instruments and all the vocals myself, though had my fave guitarist Steve Taff doing the lead riffs and Mike head on bass... But lol... This was still days of analog ... and though we had 48 tracks... plus outboard sequencers synced up .... I ended up with around 124 tracks to mix ... heh.. and it sounds like it... Luckily the board was somewhat automated ... but it was still octopus time, moving knobs on the fly... with many tracks containing several different parts/instruments on them .. some sub-mixed already....It was crazy... but fun... Done in Tallahassee Florida at Allman Bros. drummer Butch Trucks new studio ... I was the first in the door and they were still working out the bugs when I threw this monstrosity at them ... :)
