...we could restart the "Bluebird Cafe" a radio station from the old SC Acoustic board. I'm not sure it it will work under the current forum configuration but I will at least look into it.

I get the suggestion, and think it's a good one. I used to, long ago, think (using search engines as analogy) - another one, why? LOL! There were some I never thought would go away and never expected what I/we see today. Anyway, I found SC because of a very close 24x7x365 music associate, - a "sounding board", back and forth for each other, some collaboration - but we had our own directions as well, so "not a band" thing. Anyway, I'll have to say - found and came back to SC because he passed away recently and was "mapping" all of his online accounts (as we all do ?) with sometimes or often times *different ID's, Alias' - so, hard to find. I actually found his stuff years ago here and he'd forgot about it - 10 years passed. He even sent a Thank You note/email to SC for not deleting it, etc. It was a great "save" since, "back then" (?) - he was Recording to a Boom-box, cassette deck with internal mic using himself with additional amp with looper pedals to "perform" him to get it on the tape to then get it "here" online :) - Ahh, remember the old days? (we are "spoiled" today - no more dial-up modem either! :) LOL!) Anyway - I talk to much about nothing, I know... - all that to say, to see this Forum (by accident!, checking back as I do, page refresh of always open sights)... anyway, to see this all here now - there needs to be something "new" with a different chunking of folks who may well do "it better" or differently. I don't have any (none) social media accounts - it's to much like "fast food drive through". I just found "Discord" and see the "Servers" there are fairly few if search on "music", and only there since circa 2021, 2022 ish - a year or so. One I observed says music, but, it's not; and while I love people in general I am not posting work to a server which has no "music" and is mostly (per themselves) 12-14 year olds - not going to work for me. (I'm not looking for virtual students either, lol! :) - that could work for some?) So, anyway, as far as "new ideas" go - I typically advocate for - "try and see" and keep it *focused*. Sometimes, "smallish" is *better*. I don't think we "need" another place that 1000 musicians will seek to do a core dump of their tracks that exist on all known internet servers :) already. - A buddy of mine and me, a few years ago had a "monthly blog review" for indies, and new music, experimental even. We'd ask for a song, or a specific song we already ID'd (by invitation only ?) and we'd get the whole catalog. Wow, no. That is not how the "music business" works, not in my experience even a few years back. (As a kid I had an opportunity to "do" music - looked like *not a way to make a living, and live a long, happy life, so "just said, no thank you" and no regrets.) So, now I am unclear what I am trying to say :) lol! but I said it and hope it makes sense to someone here - my only good intent. FYI - the above, curating my buddy's work - is why no tracks "here" under my profile (again, not anywhere seeking to "build a brand" versus *relationships*, so to speak). However, I'd have no problem if had a reason to post them (tracks) here. However, my "sound" is diverse and experimental. - Yet, I do love "Lou Reed" 1v1g acoustic, stripped to the minimum, type tracks, e.g., "Sweet Jane". What's a reason? (to do this, radio?) "here": - Well, there are fairly few "interactive" online communities (so to speak or there's - too many :) ...) so, while I interact with folks on BandCamp, BandLab and now some Discord servers those old-er communities (established members with long histories) are so used to speaking to each other (only), and do so over and around new folks (I don't see why they all seem so eager to have "new" folks there - they don't engage them. And not just "me" (I get engaged) - but, folks come, then leave. Or like on BL ? post a song or two, it's so big there and their online DAW so complex for some - they leave - back to FB :)

Seems to me like a great idea. I have no clue about 'how to start a radio station', but I know from listening to folks here on Soundclick, there are more than a few who deserve radio play. I posted elsewhere that I listen to internet radio at night while reading. My 'station' of choice is 'MyTuner' on Roku. It has everything from regional stations to podcasts and 'electronic/old school smooth jazz', which kinda draws me in many times. If somehow a Soundclick station got on 'MyTuner' or Roku, I'd sure listen to it.

Why a radio station you ask? The Bluebird Cafe was a radio station that contained music from the MEMBERS of the forum. It is a collection or a sampling, if you will, of what can be found. There is nothing backward about it. Depending upon YouTube or other platforms does not serve the same purpose. That is just another search which often yields unwanted BS I normally ignore. You can go to YouTube or BandCamp of even my personal site and play my music. But, if you want to hear Greg Valentine's music or any other artist here on SC, you won't find it with my music on any server site. The radio here serves that purpose.

I wasn't around for the Bluebird Cafe, but I'm interested in the concept. Call me a 'regular' as I'm on here at least weekly these days.
